Audit Awards 2025 Winners: Meet the Auditors Who Are Changing the Profession

Here are their stories, and a reminder of who you might be working alongside right now.
Meet the 2025 Audit Awards Winners
Newcomer of the Year
Maddie was a second-year staff accountant when her firm rolled out DataSnipper in January 2024. Despite not having a deep audit background yet, she jumped in independently, found faster ways to work, and quickly became the go-to person for anyone with a DataSnipper question. Her firm built a Champion team and brought her in despite her seniority, and despite skepticism from some in leadership about the technology itself.
The numbers tell the story. In year one of adoption, across an assurance department of 56 people, Maddie personally accounted for 20% of text snips, 52% of validation snips, 65% of exception snips, 40% of documentation snips, and 20% of invoice extraction snips. She built templates for her colleagues, helped deliver an internal Lunch and Learn, and now supervises new staff and interns on how to integrate DataSnipper into their workflow.
The impact carried into year two, Maddie was promoted to Assurance Senior and is viewed as a rising star in her department.
Maddie Boudreaux has made a significant impact through her leadership and diligence, she eagerly and independently jumped into the technology and despite not having a robust background/experience in audit, she found ways to do our work more efficiently and creatively. She quickly became the go-to person when anyone had a DataSnipper question.
Hero of the Year 2025
Silvina led the digital transformation of audit at her firm and made Lisicki Litvin & Asociados the leading DataSnipper user in Latin America. A Certified Public Accountant from the University of Buenos Aires with over 12 years specializing in external audit, she currently serves as Manager of the Business Intelligence division.
The commitment to innovation and efficiency in auditing has transformed Datasnipper from a simple tool into a true competitive advantage for our firm. We have become industry leaders in the region, demonstrating that digital transformation can enhance audit work and optimize processes at sale.
In a single year, her work helped the firm produce 2,936,840 snips, prepare 17,091 workbooks, and review 74,893 workbooks across 200 active licenses. She got there by building what most firms skip: continuous training sessions, standardized templates that fit into existing audit procedures, tutorial videos for ongoing learning, and real-time support for every license holder. She also analyzed workflows across the firm to find automation opportunities others would have missed.
"Winning the Hero of the Year award was an incredible and truly meaningful experience for me, both professionally and personally. It is a huge honor to be part of a community that promotes innovation, collaboration, and excellence in audit and finance. I would like to encourage all professionals in the industry to participate, nominate, and recognize those who make an impact every single day through their work. 👏 Behind every achievement, there are always teams, commitment, and passion for doing things better."
Audit MVP of the Year
Cassidy is based in Portage la Prairie, Manitoba, and has been with MNP for over six years. She won MVP because she questions the way things have always been done, and then teaches everyone else what she finds.
Her nominator described someone who uses DataSnipper to build worksheets that pull and recalculate information automatically. The result: junior preparers can follow her work, see exactly where information came from in prior years, and learn the audit on their own, while Cassidy is freed up for the complex files that need her expertise. She mentors newer auditors, shares ideas across preparation staff and management, and welcomes input from everyone around her.
Cassidy is constantly looking for ways to improve our efficiency on our audit files. She is an avid learner, always willing to try new things and question our "norms" to make us think if we are doing things the best way for ourselves and our clients. Her willingness to think outside the box helps all of us improve our work, and benefits our clients with quality work done faster.
Nominate an auditor who deserves recognition in 2026
The 2026 Audit Awards recognize even more of the people pushing audit and finance forward:
- MVP of the Year: the auditor who delivers exceptional results and inspires their team
- Newcomer of the Year: the rising star making an outsized impact early in their career
- AI Hero (new for 2026): recognizing someone leading the way on AI adoption in audit
Last year's winners weren't chosen because they had the loudest voices or the biggest titles. They were chosen because the people who work alongside them took five minutes to share their story.
If someone like Maddie, Silvina, or Cassidy comes to mind, nominate them.
Nominations close June 12. Winners will be announced at DataSnipper Connect New York at the end of September.
